Group Petitions KSHA Over Alleged Unlawful Invasion By Vigilante Group In Adavi LGA

Kogi State House of Assembly is to investigate allegations of unlawful invasion and sporadic shootings by armed vigilance Group in Adavi Local Government.

This followed a petition submitted to the House by the Karaworo Community Development Association and presented by the Chairman House Committee on Public Petitions and Human Rights ,Hon Atahjaji

The Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole while reading the petition said the armed vigilance Group was allegedly led by the Chief Security Officer to Chairman of the Local Government Area, Jimoh Ozovehe.

Prince Kolawole, who directed the Committee to report back to the House on the matter in the next two weeks, said the legislative arm will ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

He charged the Committee to invite the parties involved to ensure that victims get justice, adding that pictures of affected victims submitted by the Community is disturbing and unacceptable.

The Speaker noted that Local Vigilance group who are expected to protect lives and property now pose danger to the people at the Grassroots.
