The bigwigs in Nigeria’s politics, top brass in government and captains of industry converged in Gwagwalada on Friday for the ‘Wedding Fatiah’ of Zakari Baba Abubakari and his bride Nana Fatima Sadau Bichi.
It was like a parade of who is who in Nigeria‘s politics at the wedding fatiah which was conducted by the Chief Imam of the University Teaching Hospital, Abuja Juma’at Mosque, Mallam Mohammed Doba.
The Gabi of Lokoja, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali stood in as Wakil (representative) for the groom while Alhaji Mohammed Lawal served as Waliy for the bride, Nana Fatima Sadau Bichi.
The marriage was contracted upon the payment of N150, 000 as dowry through the groom’s Wakil, and the acknowledgment of same by the bride’s Waliy.
The Chief Imam who conducted the rites, led a special prayer session for marital bliss and Allah’s blessings upon the new couple.
The roll call includes representatives of the Maigari of Lokoja, members of Kogi State Council Ulamau, Islamic clerics from Lokoja, top politicians and top government officials.
According to the wedding program, the reception is billed to take hold at Kefas Event Centre, Lokongoma, Lokoja on Saturday, 12 March, by 2pm.
