AHEAD of the May 28 and 29 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries, the Nigeria Youth Coalition for Good Governance (NYCGG), a support group in Kogi State and Nigeria in general, has assured that the group is working hard to ensure that all the Kogi State delegates vote for His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwwal during the presidential primaries.
In a chat with journalists after their rally in support of Tambuwwal in Lokoja the Kogi State capital, the National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Bala Mayaki, described Tambuwwal as a religious tolerant who is detribalised and well positioned to rule Nigeria because of his record of achievements as Speaker of House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria and Governor of Sokoto State, has the ability that can help reposition the country, especially in areas of insecurity, economy and infrastructure.
Mayaki said so far NYCGG in Kogi State have structures in the 21 council areas and all the wards in the state and also applicable to other states, canvassing support for Tambuwwal to pick the presidential ticket of the party.
He disclosed that the group has visited so many states, and had just about five more states to visit before the party primaries to solicit for delegates support for Tambuwwal.
The National Coordinator said the presidency is not a market place or playing square, but a place of workable and innovative ideas that can solve the numerous challenges of Nigeria which Tambuwwal fits.
He reminded the PDP to give their presidential ticket to somebody who can win elections and urged them to remember the clamour from Nigerians advocating for young and vibrant somebody as the president of this country which Tambuwwal happens to be one.
The Coordinator described 2023 as a “shine your eye” period, where people like Tambuwwal who has the experience, the capacity and the ability to effectively pilot the affairs of the country be voted for as the president.
Mayaki then thanked His Excellency, Alh. Aminu Waziri Tambuwwal for deeming it fit in appointing one of the sons of the state, leader of the party in the state and elder statesman, Distinguished Senator Tunde Ogbeha, as the Chairman, Presidential Campaign Council, a good choice in a right direction he said.
