No fewer than 3,000 residents of Kogi Western Senatorial District have benefitted from the food items distributed by the senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Hon Muhammed Ibukun Abubakar Bukky, to enable them celebrate sallah successfully.
The distribution of the items had commenced today.
Among the food items distributed by the philanthropist, were cash, rams, rice and spaghetti.
Part of the items were also distributed to orphanage homes within the zone
Bukky said that the gesture was aimed at cushioning the effects of the various challenges experienced by people within the year.
He said that the team had ensured that the distribution was handled effectively in order to reach those in genuine need at this time of the year.
The senatorial hopeful urged residents and indigenes of his district to keep safe during the festive period.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke at the occasion, extolled Bukky’s gestures, describing it as unprecedented in the history of the senatorial district.
“We really appreciate this kind gesture and we pray God grants him heart desires and cause the spirits of all the children he has provided food for pave greater ways for him,” they said.
Also, political associates, residents and stakeholders in the zone commended his efforts toward repositioning the area, with special focus on the girl-child, infrastructure and provision of water.
