Scores of supporters of the Kogi West Senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP), Hon Muhammed Ibukun Abubakar Bukky, Tuesday, agreed to join forces to deliver the zone to him during the 2023 general elections.
The groups numbering over 11 gathered in Iyara, headquarters of Ijumu LGA came together under the umbrella of “Friends of Bukky” in Kogi State where they charted way forward on how to deliver the Senatorial District to the NNPP candidate during the 2023 general elections.
The gathering which was coordinated by the Lokoja chapter of Bukky Support Organisation (BSO) consisted of politicians across party lines and other stakeholders.
Declaring the meeting open, the state coordinator of BSO, Barr. Olusegun David, said: “The forum was initiated to bring all friends of Bukky from various groups and political parties together so that we can work together for the NNPP senatorial candidate and deliver the district for him during the 2023 general elections.
David who expressed delight over the large turn out of members of various groups for the meeting, described Bukky as a visionary leader capable of bringing the desired change to the Senatorial District.
“Bukky is a visionary leader. We need a change, but not the kind of the change brought by the All Progressives Congress (APC). Enough of insecurity, enough of poverty, enough of ASUU strike. Bukky has given us his blueprint, no other candidate has done that,” David added.
He enjoined the friends of Bukky to see themselves as one, championing the same cause and should therefore work in unison to ensure the victory of the NNPP’s senatorial candidate come 2023.
Also speaking, the deputy coordinator of BSO Alhaji Ohikwo Adangara, assured the crowd that Bukky and some top politicians in the zone are on the same page.
He urged the stakeholders and their followers to cast their votes for all the NNPP’s candidates across board.
