A philanthropist and Abuja based business man, Dr. Mukhtar Yahaya Mawo has said that Kogi State has lost another exemplary monarch.
He made this assertion while reacting to the passage of the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Dr. Mohammodu Kabir Maikarfe.
NationalWatch recalls that the monarch joined his ancestors in the late hours of Wednesday, in Abuja.
He lamented that the State had lost another exemplary monarch.
He described the death as shocking, painful and a huge loss to the State and Lokoja Chiefdom.
Dr. Mawo, who is also an illustrious son of Lokoja said that the monarch was an exemplary leader and a true believer in the progress and development of his Chiefdom.
The philanthropist said that he had been informed of the passage of the monarch immediately he passed on.
“His death is another great loss among the ranks of leading traditional rulers in our dear state. This death is painful and shocking, but we can only submit to the will of the Almighty God, who alone has the power over life and death.
He prayed for the repose of the Maigari’s soul, and called on Nigerians to imbibe in themselves, the virtues and ideologies of peace and harmony for which the late mornarch was known.
