Kogi Governor Hosts APC Progressive Governors Forum of Media, Communications Steering Committee

The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who is a member of the Progressive Governors Forum has hosted the APC Media and Communications Steering Committee charged to provide public/media engagement initiatives in all APC states.

The Governor recieved the Information Commissioners accross the APC states at the steering committee meeting of the PGF Media and Communications Programme on Friday at the Glass House, Lokoja, Kogi State.

Governor Yahaya Bello, who was represented by his deputy, Elder Edward David Onoja, said that the committee was brought in to support the Progressive Governors to achieve the vision of rolling out progressive public/media engagement initiatives in all APC states.

According to him, this shows the party’s commitment to issues of citizens’ participation as the necessary credential for the expansion of our democratic space.

The Deputy Governor who further instilled confidence in the committee members, said Kogi state is a very peaceful state whose security is excellently guaranteed.

He stressed further that his boss, the governor has creditably performe in three thematic sectors, which according to him Education, Health and Security.

He said the present administration always considered the people first before ethnics consideration, saying the governor’s appointees cut accross gender considerations as females were elected and appointed as council Leaders, Vice Chairman, Head of Service, state secretary to the Government and many others.

He charged members of the PGF Media and Communication Steering Committee to come out with strategies that would bring about more victory in all the states.

According to him,” we need to put up strategies that will ensure victory in 2023. We are in control of 22 states, but with the lost in Osun state recently, it’s now reduce to 21 states, we therefore need to brace up to ensure victory in 30 states in 2023″.

Deputy Governor said that the mandate of the committee is to take closer look at issues of strengthening the capacities of APC controlled states to implement approved initiatives.

In his remark, the Kogi State Commissioner of Information and communication, Envangelist Kingsley Fanwo, said,” I would like to focus on all our guests, the Honourable Commissioners for Information accross the APC states in the country who have joined us here in the confluence states, Kogi state.
