Again, Thousands Of PDP Members Decamp To APC In Kogi LG

***As hundreds also embrace APC in Ukwo Ward of Koton-Karfe

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, again suffered a huge loss in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi state, as its members in Igbogo, Gegu South, and its environs decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, recently.

Mr. Solomon Musa, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, said that their decision resulted from their conviction in the development strive by the APC-led government in the state.

He stated that the good Governance of Gov. Yahaya Bello is reason behind there massive decamping from PDP to APC.

Mr. Musa further said the efforts of Gov Bello in the health sector, provision of potable water, rural electrification of several communities in Kogi LGA as unprecedented, described the present administration as getting the recognition it deserves unlike in the past.

The defectors equally praised the open door policy and accessibility of the state Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir-Gegu, who they explained has served as a bridge builder.

The defectors, who are farmers and businessmen were received by the state Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir-Gegu on Saturday.

Addressing the defectors, Engr. Bashir-Gegu assured the new entrants of equal treatment with other members of APC.

The Commissioner promised to carry the new members along while calling on them to use their wealth of experience in politics and business activities to ensure the party’s success at the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Engr Bashir-Gegu who praised Gov Yahaya for his giant stride in infrastructural development in the state said the people of Kogi LGA have never witnessed infrastructure development like it is presently experiencing.

Also speaking, the Kogi LGA Chairman of the APC, Hon. Abubakari Onah, welcomed the new members and promised to work closely with all of them toward the party’s success.

Onah congratulated the defectors, stating, ”their decision has shown their collective zeal to support the good leadership style of Gov. Yahaya Bello.”
