FCT Minister, Senator Adeyemi, Stakeholders Pay Buhari Christmas Homage

The Minister of FCT, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, Senator Smart Adeyemi and Stakeholders from the Federal Capital Territory have paid President Muhammodu Buhari, a traditional Christmas homage in Abuja on Sunday.

Buhari received the visitors, who were led by the FCT Minister, at the Presidential Villa.

Bello told the President they were at the Villa to send Christmas felicitations and to thank the Federal Government for all the support the FCT had received from his regime so far.

In his own remarks, Senator Smart Adeyemi commended President Mohammodu Buhari for the peaceful conduct of the APC Presidential primary elections in Abuja with the emergence of Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Shettima Kashim.

“For Mr President and Northern Governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to concede the party’s 2023 presidential ticket to the South, has elicited commendation from the Southern Leaders.

He described the development as a remarkable political development in the country.

The Lawmaker said Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima will win the 2023, attributing his confidence to their achievements in their various political journeys.

Adeyemi, who is Senate Committee Chairman on FCT, further appealed to President Buhari to extend similar gesture to Kogi State by allowing Kogi West to produce the next governor.

According to him, the zone has not produce governor since the creation of Kogi State.

In is own reaction to Adeyemi’s plea, the Minister of FCT also appealed to the President to allow APC to produce next governorship candidate from Kogi West for equity, Justice and fairness.

Those on the delegation included Christian and Islamic leaders as well as traditional rulers.

Buhari, while thanking the visitors, said he was committed to improving infrastructure in the country and to keep by constitutional provisions in pursuing the policies of his regime.

“I heartily rejoice with our Christian brothers and sisters on the occasion of this year’s Christmas.

“In the last seven years, I have had the privilege of receiving members of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) community on Christmas homage, except the year the COVID-19 pandemic denied us that opportunity. I will fondly remember them as my benevolent landlords and friendly neighbours,” the President stressed.
