Steer Clear Of General Elections, Immigration Boss Warns ECOWAS Citizens In Kogi

The Kogi state Comptroller of Immigration Services, T.Y. Musa, has warned  foreign nationals resident in Kogi state to keep off from politics, particularly the forthcoming 2023 general election.

Musa gave the warning at a meeting with heads of ECOWAS citizens residing in Kogi state held at the headquarters of the State Immigration Service, Lokoja, Wednesday.

The Comptroller warned that all ECOWAS citizens in the state should steer clear of  the forthcoming election, and cautioned them against being used by politicians to cause electoral violence.

He urged ECOWAS citizens who might have registered and collected the Permanent Voter Cards to return them to any immigration office nearest to them, stressing that whoever is caught with PVC would be apprehended for prosecution in the law court.

The Comptroller, however, directed the head of missions to also organise a meeting of ECOWAS citizens in their various local government areas to sensitise none Nigerians to keep away from the forthcoming general elections.
