Determined to ensure the ruling party wins the forthcoming general elections at all levels, the Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Muhammed DanAsebe Muhammed, has called on party faithful to intensify the door-to-door campaign for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Muhammed spoke during the APC Presidential rally held on Wednesday in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
The LG boss urged members of the party to ensure that Tinubu’s message of hope reaches the nooks and crannies of the state.
He said the reception given to Tinubu and his team during the party’s campaign rally in the state has indicated that the APC presidential flag bearer is popular in Kogi State.
While urging Lokoja residents to utilize the opportunity given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the collection of Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC), he tasked members of the party to do more than mobilization but engage, persuade and convince the electorates to cast their votes for Tinubu and all the APC candidates across the LGA.
He said: “We need to go all out to persuade and convince electorates in our local government area to vote for our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), our presidential candidate and all other APC candidates in the forthcoming election.
“Today, we all witnessed the massive reception we gave to our candidate, Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.
“Ours was unprecedented in the campaign train across the country. That reception further showed everybody including the doubting Thomases that indeed Kogi State is Asiwaju’s territory.
“I want to seize this opportunity on behalf of our governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, to thank all the good people of Lokoja Local Government Area who came out to show solidarity to Asiwaju and his team when his campaign train berth at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.
“Tinubu’s excitement was loud with the reception and that has added to his confidence in the ruling party in the state to deliver the state to him in the next elections,” he added.
