Breaking: Police Arrest Lawmaker With $500,000 In Rivers

A serving member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinyere Igwe, has been arrested Friday morning in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, with over Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars ($500,000.00), about 24 hours to Presidential and National Assembly elections in Nigeria.

NationalWatch learnt that the money in Igwe’s possession was allegedly given to him by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, alongside a list of how they will be distributed to beneficiaries in the 23 local government areas of the state as well as security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Port Hacourt Police Command was yet to issue any statement on the development as at the time of filing this report.
