The Kogi State leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has quashed the suspension order on the state Women Leader, Hajiya Mariam Yakubu.
The NNPP highlighted in a statement released on Friday by its State Secretary, Alhaji Musa Audu Dankano, that the decision was made after the State Executive Committee (SEC) members had a lengthy debate on recent developments within the party.
The statement reads: “To bring peace between members of the party, the Kogi State Executive Committee of the NNPP rose from their meeting on Friday under the leadership of the Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Sulaiman and lifted the suspension of the party State women leader, Hajiya Mariam Yakubu.
“This decision is without prejudice to the powers of the SEC to take necessary disciplinary action against any member of the Party at any time pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the NNPP.
“The SEC charges all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our Party across the state to be guided by the provisions of the NNPP Constitution as well as the new spirit and necessity of reconciliation, unity and harmony in our Party at this critical time.
“The NNPP must remain focused as we continue to strategise to take over power from the ruling APC.
“The SEC recognized the imperativeness of a total reconciliation among Party leaders and critical stakeholders for a more cohesive Party in the overall interest of our teeming members and Kogi State in general,” the statement reads.
Recall that Hajiya Mariam Yakubu was suspended over an alleged
anti-party activities.
