NIS Decorates Newly Promoted 33 Senior Officers In Kogi

Thirty three newly promoted Senior officers of the Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) have been decorated with their new ranks

Speaking during the colourful ceremony held at the Immigration headquarters in Lokoja on Wednesday, the State Comptroller of Kogi NIS, Taiwo Yunusa Musa, described their elevation as a recognition and reward for hard work and diligence.

He added that it is also as a result of their significant contributions to nation-building through their work in NIS.

He disclosed that the large number of Senior Officers promoted in the Command in particular and the Service in general was borne out of the fact that it was the firm conviction of the immediate past and the current acting Comtroller-General of Immigration, Adepoju Carol Wura-Ola that promotion or career mobility remains the greatest incentive to any workforce.

“The Comptroller lends credence to this position of the overall Immigration helmsman that nothing stimulates Officers to greater performance more than promotion.

According to him, the recent promotion of over Five Thousand, Senior Officers in the whole of the Service was an unprecedented gesture which will boost the morale of the beneficiaries and culminate in greater commitment and higher productivity.

He therefore, enjoined the newly promoted Officers to exhibit more sense of dedication and commitment to duty, as according to him, “to whom more is given, much is expected.”

Musa charged them to surpass the very high expectations of the management of Nigeria Immigration Service, the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Board in considering them deserving of promotion by displaying the highest sense of devotion to duty, integrity, honesty and respect to Fatherland.

The Comtroller said: ” I am particularly happy that this is about the fourth decoration ceremony that I am superintending over within a space of about two and half years as the Comtroller of this Command.

“It goes to show that promotion has been coming as at when due. And this particular one involved very senior officers of the Command.

“We therefore say a big thank you to the out gone Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the CDCFIB and immediate past and current Comptroller-General of Immigration Service for all their efforts at improving officers welfares.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the  Command Public Relations Officer, M. O. Salami, expressed delight over their promotion .

He thanked the Comptroller General of Immigration Service for finding them worthy of elevation, even as he expressed gratitude to God Almighty who made it possible for them to be honoured with their new ranks.

Salami, assured the NIS Managment, both at State and national level that they will never let the Service down as they are totally determined to live up to expectations.

He expressed gratitude to all family members, as well as the special guests for not only being part of the memorable event, but for all their support.
