*** Says top political positions are already occupied by Lokoja 11 state constituency

The Director-General Yaba Maisaka Campaign Organization, Khudiri Salihu Yabagi, has appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone the Local Government Council Chairmanship Position to Lokoja 1 State Constituency ahead of the party’s primaries for the local government council election.
In an interview with National Watch Tv on Friday in Lokoja, Yabagi urged the APC to cede its Lokoja Local Government Council Chairmanship position to Lokoja 1 State Constituency in the interest of equity and fairness.
The Yaba Maisaka Campaign Organization spokesperson noted that since top political positions such as, Member, House of Reps, Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Member, Hajj Commission, Local Government Director of Administration (DLG) and Treasurer (LGT) are currently been occupied by persons from Lokoja 11 state constituency, the council Chairmanship position should be ceded to Lokoja 1 State Constituency.
“In view of this poignant fact, Lokoja 1 is, therefore, the next priority zone for consideration of Council Chairmanship in the present dispensation of Governor Yahaya Bello.
“With the heterogeneous nature of Lokoja LGA, marginalisation of any of its parts by others should be eschewed. Far from speaking from an entitlement point of view, we strongly believes that, to give a sense of belonging to every Lokoja LGA people, LGA chairmanship must be for every tribe and religion.
“We plead with the state leadership of APC to give favourable consideration to a Lokoja 1 person emerging as candidate in the LGA chairmanship election. We believe this will reinforce the party as a just and fair political party.
“We also appeal to our brothers and sisters from Lokoja 11 to passionately look at our demand and support this call for zoning of Council Chairmanship to Lokoja 1 as that is the just and fair thing to do.
“Together, with mutual respect and understanding making the dream of a prosperous and United Lokoja LGA, a reality is achievable.” he said.
