The Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Alumni Association of Nigeria (COSFAN), has congratulated Prof. Tahir Mamman on his appointment as the Minister of Education, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
COSFAN in its Congratulatory Letter, signed by its National President, Dr. Ekundayo Samuel; and Secretary-General, Dr. Maryam Quadri, expressed confidence that Prof. Mamman’s vast experience, vision, and passion for education will contribute to and advance education in Nigeria.

According to the letter, COSFAN is a body that consists of eminent Nigerians who have enjoyed the sponsorship of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), United Kingdom (through the British Council in Nigeria), in their respective postgraduate academic pursuits and career enhancement from 1960 to date.
The objective of COSFAN is to use the knowledge, training and skills as well as network and contacts of its members within the commonwealth to support Nigeria towards achieving all the thematic areas of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with particular emphasis on education and act as a think-tank in different need-based development issues in Nigeria.
“We understand the transformative power of education and the impact it could have on society. Undoubtedly and deservedly so, your remarkable leadership competencies will enhance our efforts to support educational initiatives, share knowledge, and create a positive impact on the educational landscape of our nation.
