A philanthropist, Hon. Mohammed Ibukun Abubakar Bukky has congratulated Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu the new Ohimagye Igu of Koton-Karfe and Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi, the new Maigari of Lokoja on their appointments as Ohimagye Igu of Koton-Karfe and Maigari of Lokoja, respectively.
In a congratulatory letter he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, he described the appointments to the throne of their forefathers as an honour well deserved.
He urged the new monarchs to see the trust as a responsibility of promoting and upholding the cultural values, traditions and heritage of their people.
Bukky added that he has confidence that the reign of the new Ohimegye Igu and Maigari will usher in prosperity and peace to the ancient cities of Koton-Karfe and Lokoja.
While praying for a long and eventful reign for the new Ohimagye Igu and Maigari, Bukky expressed the hope that the new monarchs would deploy their tremendous skills and rich understanding of traditional institution to promote peace and stability in Koton-Karfe Kingdom, Lokoja Emirate Council, Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.
