The Caretaker Chairman of Lokoja Local Government, Comrade Abdullahi has visited the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha in Lokoja.
The Chairman who led members of the Transition Committee to the Commissioners Office on Wednesday stated that they deemed it fit to pay a courtesy visit to the Police Commissioner to seek the cooperation of the Command and explore areas of synergy.
Comrade Abdullahi Adamu in his remark expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Security Agencies especially the Nigeria Police for the peace and security. “We have come to introduce the Lokoja Local Government Transition Committee team and to seek your support and cooperation so that we can continue to enjoy the existing peace in Lokoja and Kogi State.”
The Chairman appeal for the continuous efforts of the Police in addressing the pockets of insecurity experienced around some parts of Oworoland like Obajana, Oshokoshoko, Kakanda etc
CP Onuoha who received the transition committee commended the Chairman for starting on a right footing. “Security in the responsibility of everybody hence the need for synergy with people closer to the communities”, he added.
He also commended the Lokoja Local Government Transition Committee for the bold step and promised to work closely with the council to ensure that peace is sustained.
The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Emmanuel Egamana thanked the Commissioner for the warm reception. He prayed for God’s guidance, peace and progress.
