A passionate appeal has been made to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to please tackle the economic hardships facing the people and should alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
The National Coordinator and leaders of the “Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group”, who made the passionate appeal at his residence in Obajana, urged the Federal Government to take proactive step in tackling food, fuel and security challenges facing nigerians over subsidy removal.
Chief Asaje expresses great concern on the economic situation of the country, as Nigerians are going through harrowing experiences ranging from high cost of goods and services that are supposed to make life easy for them.
He lamented that the economic situation keep getting worse by the day.
The leader emphasized that the abrupt removal of fuel subsidies without first putting in place shock-absorbing measures, has made it more difficult for the government to achieve the policy’s long- term aims.
“Nigerians were now facing serious economic challenges ranging from unstable prices of foodstuffs, unstable increment of school fees, high cost of living in school environment and high cost of fuel, making life unbearable for the masses.
Chief Asaje stressed further that fuel subsidies have been a contentious economic and political issue in many countries , including Nigeria and for years, Nigeria has implemented fuel subsidies as a means to provide cheaper petroleum products to its citizens.. reverse is the case.
“Nigerians observed that subsidies diverted huge sums of public funds to private pockets and the subsidies benefitted a few companies.., hence the need for the subsidy removal by the new administration.
“We all love President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and understand that he believes there some people we can still trust, fine, but he needs to set up a “think-tank team to monitor everything aimed to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
“As an elder stateman and a father,my kind-deed advise to President Tinubu is to reverse some of his actions till his second term.. Nigerians are gullible,if we are to be like China, Europe and American,we must experience hardship, cos so many things have went wrong and needs a gradual process to achieve all aims..
“Mr President should understand that when you are fighting corruption, corruption will fight back..He should consider his second term bid that will enable his government to shackle and firmly grip good governance.. lt will be a slap on the part of the Yoruba race(west). So, President Tinubu must look inward, navigate and convinced people that he cares..
“The negative effect of the subsidy removal/economic situation is drastically affecting the livelihood of the people.. People are hungry, dying and people are hangry..He should not hurt the feelings of the people too much and should remember that Nigerians have corporated with the government enough and they should not make life too difficult for the people to live..
“The burden of increased fuel prices disproportionately affects low – income, individuals and families, potentially worsening income inequality. The vulnerable group now spend a larger portion of their income on fuel and basic necessities, he added,” he stressed.
Chief Asaje insists that the government should be in position to alleviate the suffering of the people by reversing some of the unprofitable or unworkable policies. When they make policies, they should look at the masses.. They assured us that all will be well once the subsidy is being removed,it has been removed yet we are still groaning,we are still having problems.. The removal of subsidy on petrol ,rise in inflation and unification of exchange rates have raised the level of hardship nationwide..
“We are asking and begging, let our policy makers go back to the drawing board ,find a means of carrying out checks and balances, look at it and see how they can alleviate our sufferings.. People are suffering and businesses are collapsing..
“We have conquered many challenges in the past and pray that we come out stronger .. l enjoins the government to set up their efforts at alleviating the hardship in the land..
“Where there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily, but wise and knowledgeable leaders bring stability..
“My sincere prayer for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is God to give him the wisdom and the courage to achieve their goals ethically and in compliance with regulatory expectations and best practices.
May President Bola Ahmed Tinubu succeed. May we all experience a new development and improvement in the current economic situation..

Chief Richard Asaje, National Coordinator; Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group
