The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has commissioned the state’s secretariat of the party in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The official launch of the new secretariat which is opposite Adisco International, Ajase Ekpo Road, Ilorin, was performed by the Chairman of the Kano State chapter of the NNPP, Alhaji Hashim Suleiman Dungurawa who was assisted by his counterpart, Kwara state chairman, Alh. Abdulfatahi J. Imam and other officials of the party in Ilorin, the capital on Monday.
In his address shortly before the commissioning, Dungurawa lauded the donor whom he praised for his steadfastness and love for the party.
He added that the gesture was a further demonstration of the commitment of Shittu to the growth and progress of the NNPP not only in Kwara State but in Nigeria as a whole.
Dungurawa further added that the significance of the event was such that more Nigerians are beginning to key into the philosophy and the agenda of NNPP and Kwankwassiya as the only viable option for making the country great.
“What we have done here in Ilorin today, I mean the event of officially commissioning of this secretariat further highlights the party’s commitment to strengthening its organisational structure and enhancing its operations within the (Kwara) state.
In his own remarks, the Kwara State chairman of the party, Alh. Abdulfatahi J Imam who was visibly happy with the gesture stated that all members are happy that they have somewhere they can call their own.
He added that the new facility is expected to serve as a central hub for the party’s activities, providing essential resources as well as to help provide the needed support for the party’s members and initiatives at all times.
“What we have done here today is to further cement the existence of the NNPP as a political party of note here in Kwara State.
“Today, I am happy that as members of the NNPP, we can now have a place we can call our own.
“The significance of today’s occasion is not in anyway lost on us as a party. This is because, as a political party, we now have a place we can call our home, a hub for all our various activities as well as a clearing house for all our activities,” said.
Also speaking, the leader of the party in the state, Alhaji Shittu said the commissioning was to reposition the party and make it committed to the philosophy and ideas, which he said was aimed at making Nigeria great through investments in the infrastructural, economic and human capital assets of the country.
He added that, “Today, we have succeeded in putting our party, the NNPP on sound footing in Kwara State. This is because one of the means of assessing the seriousness of a party to compete favourably as a platform is to establish a physical corporate presence.
“This is what we have done with the commissioning of this new secretariat that we are opening here in Ilorin, Kwara State. I have no doubt that this gesture will inspire confidence in all our members who will eventually see this as their home and for the leadership of the party to utilize it as a hub and a clearing house for all our activities in Kwara State.
“Everyone in the country knows what our National leader Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso stand for, his ideologies is to emancipate the masses of this country through education and employment as it’s presently happening in Kano under Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf,” Shittu concluded.
Among those at the event are of the leader in the state, Chief Mrs Folashade Aliyu, Kano state organizing Sect, Dr. Abdulazeez Ahmed, the three senatorial candidates of the party in last general election and many officials of the party in the same.
