The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Muhammed Dan’Asebe Muhammed, on Monday, bagged the Movement for Peace and Equitable Governance in Nigeria, (MOPEGUN), Merit Award as best performing chairman of the year following his developmental projects, empowerment and skill acquisition programmes.
The council chairman while speaking to newsmen in Lokoja said he has dedicated the award to his mentor and master, His Excellency Yahaya Bello, whom he said he had always emulated since he assumed office as Lokoja Council chairman.
Speaking further, Muhammed said the news of the award came to him as surprise, saying that the inspiration to develop his local government came from his working governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, whom he described as a developer of both human and infrastructures.
While commending the governor for the supports he has gotten so far, Muhammed said he had turned around the state with harvest of developments, saying he is currently leading the vanguard fo the governor’s ambition to become the next Nigeria President.
While commending the MOPEGUN for selecting him as one of the awardees, Muhammed said that the award will further spur him to do more.
He called on Lokoja LGA people to rally round and support Gov Bello’s administration.
