To cushion the effect of Covid-19, the Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Muhammed Dan’Asebe Muhammed, on Friday, distributed Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)to commercial motorcycle riders Lokoja.
The supply of free fuel took place at Habso and Rainoil Petrol Stations in Lokoja.
They got ten litres of fuel each in the scheme which it was learnt would continue.
Muhammed said the gesture was made to complement the efforts of the present administration in reducing hardship that might have been caused by the COVID-19.
At Rainoil Filling station, Okada riders in their numbers lauded the charity spirit of Hon. Muhammed Dan’Asebe Muhammed for giving back to the people of Lokoja and in all time he will be remembered for his usual supports to the people.
While praising the effort of the initiative, the Lokoja local government Chairman of the Okada Riders Association, Alhaji Musa Aliyu Babaguguru, commended the council boss and urge him to continue in his plight to alleviate poverty from the people.
He expressed his gratitude to the the council boss for counting him and his team worthy of the good gesture.
He prayed to Almighty God to replenish the donor’s pocket just as he pledged their total support for Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
He assured that the union would do all in their capacity to drum support for the Governor’s Presidential ambition.
At Habso filling station, one of the beneficiaries, Mr Emmanuel Festus, applauded the donor for his kind gesture as he never expected such when he was living house for today’s work.
He then urged others to emulate him because, a according to him, “whatever we did today would become history tomorrow,”.
He also applauded Governor Yahaya Bello for the approval of construction of many roads in Lokoja town and his environment and pray for successful tenure of the people’s governor.
The occasion was witnessed by members of Okada Riders Association, Councillors, top government officials and politicians, among others.
