The lawmaker representing Lokoja 11 State Constituency, in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Idris Ndako, has donated food items to members of his constituency, including widows.
Ndako who is the Deputy Majority Leader distributed the items on Friday, at his Felele residence, with members of his constituency in attendance.
Part of the food items distributed by the lawmaker included bags of rice, cows, rams and cash gifts.
Ndako who personally supervised the distribution of items running into millions of naira said that the gesture was borne out of his desire to enable the beneficiaries and their family members celebrate the season with ease and Joy despite the challenges of covid -19 pandemic.
While urging the constituents to ensure compliance with all Covid-19 protocols including physical distancing and wearing of face masks, Ndako said.
“Christmas is a season of love and sharing, particularly with those who don’t have.
“This may not be enough, but with this little, I believe it will go a long way in supporting some families to celebrate Christmas and new year well.”
While noting that year 2021 has been a trying one globally, he urged other well meaning individuals to assist to add meanings to lives of others in the spirit of the season.
The Deputy Majority Leader assured the people of more dividends of democracy to improve their standard of living.
The APC Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Maikudi Bature, appreciated the Lawmaker for touching people’s lives.
One of the beneficiaries, Madam Bode Samson thanked the Lawmaker for bringing the food items to them.
“I pray that he grows higher and to get a position bigger than this so that he will continue to uplift people more than he is doing now,” Samson said.
She prayed for God’s protection upon him as he discharges his duties.
