Barrister Maimuna Audu Salutes Founding Fathers, As Kogi Marks 32nd Anniversary

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kogi State, Barrister Maimuna Eke Abubakar Audu on Monday acknowledged the unforgettable determination of the founding fathers of Kogi State which culminated into creation of the state on August 27, 1991 by the then Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

In a statement she personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja, Audu recalled the selfless and long suffering efforts of the state founding fathers, which she said predated the nation’s independence and only came to fruition in 1991 with Lokoja as the state capital.

Barrister Maimuna Eke Abubakar Audu, who is the daughter of late Prince Abubakar Audu, described the 32nd anniversary of the State’s creation as a veritable avenue to remind surviving stakeholders in the state of the shared commitment to progress and development, embracing areas of one another’s strengths and addressing weaknesses.

“As an ordinary citizen like every other person, it gladdens my heart to recognize the important role the people have been playing to see that the dreams of the founding fathers are sustained through their support for all the administrations in the state.

“Our people have been reinventing themselves through the opportunity the APC administration has made available to them and this has created a symbiotic synergy between the governor and the governed.

“I salute the peaceful disposition of the people and urge them to continue to forge harmonious relationship with the state government whenever they are called upon”, the statement read.
