Sardauna Kakanda, Dr Aliyu Donates N1.2m Cash, Relief Materials To Budan Flood Victims In Kogi

Succour came the way of flood victims in Kakanda communities on Wednesday with N1.2 million cash and relief materials donated by Dr Tijjani Aliyu, the Sardauna of Kakanda Kingdom.

The donation was sequel to devastating effects of the flooding in the state this year.

The Sardauna, expressed shock at the level of damage and loss of lives caused by the flood in Kakanda communities and Kogi State at large.

The traditional title holder, who channelled the donation through the Agankyu of Kakanda, Alhaji Muhammed Sanni, expressed shock at the level of damage and loss of lives caused by the flood in the area and Kogi at large.

Dr Aliyu, who is also the Executive Director Risk Management, Keystone Bank Ltd, explained that ha had visited some affected communities and sympathised with them over the disaster.

He assured the victims that he will engage with other federal agencies for more humanitarian support.

He urged the people of the area to always adhere to advice from the government not to build on waterways to avoid flooding in the area.

“I am also reminding our people to always be guided and follow the advice given by the government on preventive measures against flooding.

” By not building on waterways and reside in safer environments in the interest of their health and for the overall development of the area and the state at large,” he said

Also speaking, HRH Alhaji Muhammed Sanni, the Agankyu of Kakanda Kingdom, appreciated the Sardauna for his kind gesture and for always coming to the aid of his people.
