Prince Shuaibu Audu Condemns  Herdsmen Attack In Kogi Community, Appeals For Calm

A Cheiftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kogi State and top contender of the state Governorship seat, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu,  yesterday, condemned the recent unwarranted invasion and wanton destruction of lives and property including farmlands by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Oganenigwu  community of Dekina LGA in Kogi  State.

Prince Audu, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, described the attack as “evil, barbaric and unfortunate”.

He called on all security agencies in the state to be alive to their responsibilities of protection of lives and property in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

He said: “The murders were a deliberate attempt by mischief makers to disrupt the relative peace process that the Dekina local government had initiated.

He described the murders as evil and a violation of the sanctity of human lives.

Prince Audu condoled with the Dekina traditional council and the family of the deceased, praying to God for the repose of their souls.

“My heart is torn to shreds and I deeply feel the pain of these poor families.

“We will do everything humanly possible to ensure that any person or group of persons found culpable in this attack is decisively dealt with.

“They will not be allowed to go unpunished. They shall face the full wrath of the law,” he said.

He therefore appealed to the people to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies and provide useful information that would lead to the apprehension of those who carried out the evil act.
