It is commonly said that everything in life has it’s due time. There is time to be born into this earthly planet and there is also a time for an exit.
At this auspicious moment in the history of our most cherished kingdom, a new dawn has emerged with my reign as the Mayaki of Kupa Kingdom.
I can see the joy and happiness of our people all across the kingdom, a situation which has gladdened my heart that my appointment and subsequent turbaning and presentation of staff of office by our amiable governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is indeed a popular choice.
It is in this token that I wish to thank our people here in Kupaland for this honour done me today with an assurance not to take this new assignment for granted.
This is the reason why I am making firm commitment to them to serve faithfully and dutifully for the rest of my life and protect them and their interest at all times.
I am also extending my heartfelt appreciation to Kupa traditional leaders and elders who in their wisdom have found me worthy to be bestowed with this honour. I promise not to let you down.
In the same vain, I am also extending my sincere appreciations and gratitude to His Excellency, Gov Yahaya Bello who in his concurrent approval to the choice of our people and that of our esteemed kingmakers.
Let it be placed on records that this singular gesture will forever be remembered by our people for a long time to come.
On behalf of our people here in Kupaland, we are wishing you success and good health in all your future endeavours as you depart office as the executive governor of Kogi State on Saturday.
I also extends my appreciation and congratulations to our incoming governor, His Excellency, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo. I pray Allah protection on you as you takeover the affairs of our dear state tomorrow.
Let me also thank my brother, the speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Umar Aliyu (Assignment) for his supports and dedication to Kupa land and Kogi State in general. I pray Almighty Allah to continue to promote and rewards him all time.
I also thank and express my appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff of the ministry of Local government and Chieftaincy affairs, ably led by Hon. Ozigi Momoh Deedat, Hon. Commissioner. May Allah rewards you all.
To all Kupa Sons and Daughters, our friends and well wishers who have traveled far and wide to be part of this epoch making event, I wish you all safe return back to your destination.
