State Congress: Ahmadu Usman Emerges NNPP Chairman In Kogi

***As 18 others also emerges unopposed

Alhaji Ahmadu Abdullahi Usman, has emerged the new New Nigeria People Party, (NNPP), Chairman in Kogi State by Consensus.

His emergence which was  affirmed  by  voice vote was conducted by Alhaji Abdulmalik Sulaiman at Kewon Hotels, Lokoja, on Monday.

18 other  state executive members of the party  emerged unopposed.

Addressing stakeholders as well as party faithfuls, Sulaiman said when they got to Kogi State they discovered that all the 19 positions were to be filled by Consensus candidate.

“It is part of our party constitution in Article 20, and we will allow it because it is legal and constitutional so we will confirm this by voice affirmation,” he said.

In his acceptance Speech, the new Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Abdullahi Usman said, “I will like to use this opportunity to appreciate members of the NNPP, Kogi State Chapter. The NNPP is one and the same, this is a family election. I believe there is no winner, the winner is the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP).

Usman who is from Kogi Local Government expressed willingness to work with all the NNPP leaders to change the fortunes of the party and prepare it for 2023 electoral victory.

Other elected members included, Abdullahi Otaru Ogidi (Vice Chairman), Mr Sulaiman Abubakar (Secretary); Mrs Lami Dan Musa (Women Leader); Alhaji Muhammed Dankano Musa (Publicity Secretary), among others

Addressing newsmen shortly after the Congress, Leader of the NNPP in Kogi State, Alhaji Muhammed Abdullahi said; “We will shock both the APC and PDP by winning the governorship and other elections in Kogi in 2023.,’’

According to him, 2023 would be the beginning of the end of the APC government in the state.

Abdullahi who was a governorship aspirant in 2019, said the party had mapped out strategies to unseat the ruling party, adding “with the new spirit in NNPP in Kogi, we are sure of winning″.

He described the performance of Yahaya Bello, the governor, as “dismal’’, claiming that “Kogites are eagerly waiting for the NNPP to take over and deliver purposeful leadership’’.

“We will shock the APC and PDP, take my words, we already have lots of novel ideas to wrestle them from power,” he said.

“For now, we will keep our strategies sealed, when the game starts, we will unleash them.
