A Philanthropist, Hon.Muhammed Ibukun Abubakar Bukky, has picked the New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), ticket unopposed for Kogi Western Senatorial District in the 2023 general election.
Bukky emerged through consensus arrangement and affirmation by the party’s delegates at the primaries that were supervised by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
He is returned by his political party unchallenged.
At the crowded St. Joseph Primary School Hall, in Kabba, where 245 delegates of the NNPP gathered to elect the party’s Senatorial flagbearer, Hon. Bukky won a landslide, bagging all 245 valid delegates’ votes.
The Returning Officer, Alhaji Danjuma Usman from the NNPP national secretariat, Abuja, who announced the results, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and historic.
While addressing the delegates, Bukky thanked them for voting for him and pledged to work with members of the party to win the secondary election.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after his emergence as Kogi West senatorial candidate of the NNPPP, he said he would ensure good representation and quality transformation of the senatorial district if elected.
He said that his exposures in both public and private lives would be deployed to enhance the socio wellbeing of his constituency.
Bukky who assured the people of Kogi West of a robust representation said he will turn around the fortune of the Party for good.
He called on the members of the Party to expect a tsunami of defection from the APC and PDP into the NNPP during his official declaration.
“Daily people shall be defecting to join us in the NNPP,” he assured NNPP members.
