NDE Organizes Training Of Trainers In Kogi

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has organized a capacity building workshop tagged “Training of Trainers” (TOT) under her Vocational Skills Development Department (VSD) in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital on Thursday.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony of the event, the state coordinator, Mr. Ibidun Abiodun Amos who represented the Director General of NDE Mall. Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo made the disclosure that the auspicious job creation capacity building workshop was organized to train NDE trainers in order to equip them with requisite soft skills to improve on their performance.

The representative of the Director of vocational skills development (VSD) department from NDE headquarters Mrs. Jamila Suleiman who came as the facilitator of the programme charged the participants to seize the opportunity as it is meant to boost their productivities.

Earlier in his welcome address, the HOD Vocational Skills Development, Mall. Abubakar Y.B Adam pointed out the course outline as follows (soft skills);
Life skills: Self awareness, communication skills, decision making, problem solving, critical thinking, time management.

Others include, Teaching Technical and Vocational Skills Vocational, Workshop Management,
General Workshop Safety Precaution.

Responding on behalf of other participants, Mr. Abutu Solomon commended the NDE for playing a leadership role in erasing idleness from the army of unemployed youths in our society.
