The political aspiration of Barr. Abdulrahman Tanko, received a huge boost over the weekend, following the endorsement of his candidature by the umbrella body of tailors in the state.
Barr. Tanko is contesting for Kogi West Senatorial seat under the platform of the Social Democrats Party, SDP, in the forthcoming general elections.
At an interactive session with the members of the executive of the Kogi State Union of Tailors in Lokoja, the artisan body pledged to fully work for the political aspiration of Barr. Tanko, describing him as a go- getter.
The spokesman of the union at the occasion, Mallam Ibrahim Yahaya Adangere said the time has come for the electorates to only support candidates that can deliver, urging them to take their destiny in their own hands.
He assured Barr. Tanko of the union’s support to ensure his victory in the forthcoming general elections, pointing out that they strongly believe in his ability to change things for the better.
He stressed that although God gives power to whoever He wants, they will work assiduously towards his victory, leaving the rest to the Almighty, who has absolute power over all things.
Responding, the SDP candidate for Kogi West Senatorial seat, Barr. Abdulrahman Tanko assured that if given the mandate, he would work for the overall interest of the people of his constituency, promising not to betray the confidence reposed in him.
He said he adequately work for the good governance of the country, assuring that all segments of his constituency would be carried along in the scheme of things.
Also in a remark, the Director General of Barr. Tanko Campaign Organization, Alhaji Adamu Gwadabe, described his principal as a man of his words, saying if given the mandate, Barr. Tanko would attract development to his constituency.
