A support group made up of youths, ‘Ododo Progressive Youths’ (OPY), has appealed to delegates at the forthcoming governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kogi State to vote for the outgoing Local Government Auditor General, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, based on his competence.
The OPY Coordinator, Hon. Musa Shafi a.k.a Maradona made the appeal in a statement availed National Watch in Lokoja on Tuesday.
According to Maradona, the ex-auditor general is not a moneybag and will seek delegates’ votes with his personal quality.
He said Ododo has the qualities needed to redirect Kogi State.
The OPY Coordinator who assured the delegates that the former auditor general would work assiduously to advance the legacies of Government Yahaya Bello stressed that he would prudently manage the state’s resources and increase the revenue – generation capacity.
“We are appealing to the delegates to vote for Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo because we are convinced that God has chosen him as the man that will redirect Kogi to economic prosperity.
“Governor Bello has recently spoken clearly of the kind of personality he wants as his successor and we believe Ododo fits into this bill.
“He is a man who God has blessed with the gift of identifying talents and people with quality.
“We believe strongly that he will be able to assemble the right people that will be round pegs in round holes to give a new direction for Kogi in the area of security, economy, sports, education, health and every other sphere of life of the state.
“We therefore appeal to all the delegates to give their votes to the man Kogites needs at this moment and that is Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo,” the statement added.
