A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Barrister Naseer Ahmad, Wednesday insisted that the APC presidential candidate in this month’s presidential election, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would win the poll overwhelmingly, stressing that the party has the momentum.
Ahmad who spoke with newsmen during the APC Presidential rally held at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, said the other presidential candidates were clearly behind the APC in terms of preparation, insisting that elections remain a game of numbers.
He argued that if the opposition, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and others could not defeat the APC as one house in 2019, there was no way they would be able to defeat the ruling party as a divided house in 2023.
“Now, if you were not enough when you were together, how can you be enough when you’re broken up into three?” he asked.
He said the large turnout of Kogites who attended the rally is a display of love for the former governor of Lagos State.
“It is also a confirmation that Kogi will vote en-masse for Tinubu in this month’s election,” he stressed.
Ahmad who mobilized thousands of his supporters to the stadium for the rally said: “I want to sincerely thank the people of Kogi State for this massive show of love for Tinubu and for all the candidates of the APC in the state.
On the recent Supreme Court ruling on Cash Swap, Barrister Ahmad who is the Dan Darma of Lokoja, commended the ruling of the Apex Court extending the use of the old naira notes beyond the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) February 10 deadline, describing it as a welcome development.
He thanked the justices for their decision and appealed to the federal authorities to treat the ruling as an opportunity to relieve human suffering.
