Why I am Contesting For Kogi West Senate – Engr. Stephen

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joseph Oluwasegun Stephen, has said his decision to contest the Kogi West senatorial seat in the forthcoming 2023 elections is hinged on the need to facilitate developmental initiatives and economic advancement to the region.

Stephen disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Lokoja on Saturday.

He stressed that he is seeking to represent the senatorial district with the clear intention of providing valuable and purposeful leadership that can fastrack the growth of the area.

He said, “I was born in the zone and lived the first 20 years of my life among the people. In my adult life, I have moved around the entire Kogi West countless times; and I know the environment, the culture, the aspirations and desires of our people”.

According to him, “I have contributed to the growth of the senatorial district in many ways and what I intend to do is use this legislative platform to ensure Kogi West experiences political progress and economic advancement; by accelerating developmental initiatives to our communities and enhance the dignity of our people”.

The grassroot politician added that all through his years in private sector, he had never been found wanting in character, competence and delivery in the different projects he had executed.

“My records are clean, my antecedents are verifiable, I am a performer and will do better in this assignment”; he said.
