House Of Assembly: Yabagi Wins PDP Shadow Primary For Lokoja1

The Lokoja local government area chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has declared Ahmed Shehu Yabagi the winner of the party’s Shadow Primary election.

Yabagi will fly the party’s flag in the 2023 House of Assembly election for Lokoja 1 State Constituency.

Yabagi polled 19 votes to beat his closest rival, Mohammed Balga Abdulrahman, who polled 17 votes.

The electoral process which was hitch-free lasted 2 hours.

Declaring the results, the chairman of the Election Committee, Mr Sam Abenemi, the State Deputy Chairman of the party said, “Hon. Ahmed Shehu Yabagi polled 19 votes, Mohammed Balga Abdulrahman, 17 votes and Yusuf Alabi got nine votes.

“As you can see, what happened here was transparent, we gave a level playing ground to all aspirants, and you can see how everything went smoothly.

Abenemi also commended the maturity of all the aspirants and urged them to support the party to ensure it emerges victorious in the secondary election.

Responding, Yabagi, thanked the delegates for their support.

He also said, “In this election, there is no victor no vanquish, its a victory for PDP.

“Honestly, I appreciate my elder brothers who contested against me, I believe the victory is for all of us.

“So I urge all of us to work together as a family to deliver this mandate come 2023, God bless you all”.
